Identity & branding for a fictitious or rather magical product that is an aquatic firewood, yep, you read that right, it’s a functional firewood that can be used underwater.
Yet another one of my student project, the assignment was to make an illustration series for special edition gadget along with the print-ad to accompany these special edition and apparently limited gadget. So I pick Zune, yeah that iPod from Microsoft, you know I can’t pick iPod, almost everyone in my class was doing it, also it’s weird to force weird aesthetic to Apple’s product. They were so clean, pristine, white, [insert other over-the-top adjective] and Dieter Ramsian. So much for fanboy-ism.
While with Zune they have that special tune that fit for some superfluous ideas to flow and applied without seems to be out of place. Too bad the Redmond bunch killed it, such a waste, I personally love the logo mark. And don’t forget that Zune was the one that paved the way for Microsoft to their new philosophy for user interface and experience design, Metro.
